Eines® wheel & tire solutions for factory automation

In the tire production process, one of the most sensitive stages is the control operated on every single item that no defects have occurred during the production process, before it will be sent on the market.

Technologies have integrated methodologies and advanced tools to achieve more efficient and reliable controls, but there are still some parts of this process that are conducted manually by specialized workers. Automate these operations would give a great competitive advantage, considering the impact of the cost of qualified workforce and the need of objectivity in all the control phases.

The Future of Quality Control in Tire Manufacturing

Technology

Using an innovative system of cameras and lasers, Eines Solutions for DOT / DOM Readinng scans the tire and obtains a three-dimensional model on which sophisticated software algorithms perform, read and analyze all the writings and symbols imprinted on the tire Automatic lettering.

EINES® Solutions for DOT/DOM Reading

A/ EINES® Hand Held DOT/DOM Reader

Hand held unit able to acquire “flat” images. The OCR/OCV system is based on pattern correlation, using shadowed characters, relying on a good contrasted image.

Equipment process
  • Image acquisition
  • Image filtering (cleaning and binarization)
  • Pattern correlation
  • OCR/OCV

B/ EINES® Automatic Inline EDS&DOT/DOM Reader (EADR)

Automatic inline unmanned system able to scan the complete sidewall of the tires. It generates a high resolution image based on a cloud of depth information, extracted with a calibrated EINES stereo-laser mounted on a rotational device.

It doesn’t require high contrast images because it only “sees” height information.

Equipment process
  • Sidewall scanning
  • Image filtering (cleaning and binarization)
  • Pattern finding
  • OCR/OCV
